Newsletter The products sold by Actiforge fulfill the knife-maker's criteria for excellence.   CHOICE OF MATERIALS USED THE BLADE 1. 440 stainless steel A very hard steel giving an excellent cut (used for surgical implements) 2. 12c27 stainless steel Superior to the 440 steel as it has the same excellent cutting facility, but is easier to sharpen. 3. Carbon steel Traditional steel, easy to sharpen but goes black over time (used only for special orders) The quality of the blade is assured by the care given to the tempering and hardening processes. THE HANDLE We use only prestigious materials of natural origin. FINISHING TOUCHES Assembling the knife and adding the finishing touches is all done by hand. Handiwork guaranteed by the knife-maker's signature, the symbol of a product 'made in France'. Actiforge knives are handcrafted in Thiers, in Auvergne, and delivered with a certificate of origin. ATTENTION Watch out for imitations, using the Laguiole name but of inferior quality (thin blades, serrated edges, hollow holsters, no plates ….) All Actiforge knives are guaranteed against material and manufacturing defects. Your knife is unique and precious, and deserves to be looked after : - Folding knives must have the hinge oiled occasionally. - Avoid dropping the knife or using it as a lever (very hard steel can easily be broken). - Keep in a cool dry place to avoid damage to horn handles. The guarantee concerns all material and manufacturing defects, but does not cover damage due to misuse.
